Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny, Haute-Savoie,
Studio Saint-Pierre,
a material translation studio in the French Alps
Studio Saint-Pierre publishes its new site, studiosaintpierre.com, and the method behind it: a design, or an idea, taken through engineering to a finished architectural surface.
The studio works from Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny, a short drive from Geneva. It began as a material workshop and brought design and engineering in-house as the projects grew.
It takes on the projects where a standard finish falls short. There, the surface becomes part of the architecture: a staircase, an elevator interior, a ceiling, a sculptural element, a full wallcovering system. Liquid Metal puts real bronze, brass, copper, tin, iron, zinc or aluminium on almost any substrate, applied by hand. Surface printing runs to 5000 mm wide. Woven copper comes from Maison Jacquard, the group's metal weaving house.
Every surface is prototyped at full scale on the final substrate, and the client signs it off before production starts. Production then runs through LookGroup facilities in France, the United States, Canada, Qatar and the Philippines, as close to the site as the project allows.

The studio works for interior designers, architects, developers, luxury brands, shipyards, yacht designers and artists, on private residences, hospitality, retail, superyacht interiors and art installations.
"Most projects reach us once the standard options have run out. A client arrives with a drawing, a photograph, sometimes only a sense of what a room should feel like. Our work is to turn that into a material we can engineer, and then produce wherever the project is."
